Arctic is unconditionally a con amore film project for Mads Mikkelsens. - The film is about the Danish researcher Overgard, who crashes into the area around the North Pole. In order to survive, he must soon begin a deadly journey through the unknown, hoping to bring himself to safety. In addition to Mikkelsen herself, Icelandic actor Maria Thelma Smarádóttir participates.It is Brazilian Joe Penna who has been filming the movie. He has previously directed stop-motion short films, one of which is exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
