Masato is a young Ramen chef in the Japanese city of Takasaki. After the sudden death of his distant father Masato finds a suitcase with old photographs and a diary of his Singaporean mother who died when he was ten years old. Spontaneously, he decides to travel to Singapore to learn more about her. Once there, his grandmother appears to be alive and he discovers the role she has played in the moving but tragic love story of his parents. Masato decides to make an attempt to heal old family wounds by creating a special ramen dish in which the two cultures and traditions come together.
