On My Block: Season 2 | (2019) Jessica Marie Garcia, Jason Genao | Netflix

On My Block Season 2 is a few weeks away and we finally got our first look. The trailer gives us a look at the aftermath of the horrible shooting that took place on the final episode of season 1. We see the block we've come to know as well all our favorite characters back but in a much somber mood. We see many different memorials setup throughout the block from what looks to be an ongoing gang war. The final episodes gave us context of the ongoing tensions between the prophets and the santos. This all finally came to an explosive ending when Latrell came to shoot Caesar but ended up shooting Ruby and Olivia instead leaving both of their fates up in the air as the season closed. In the trailer we see that Caesar seems incapable of even dressing himself as we see Monse helping him so an altercation seems possible after the shooting happened to leave Caesar as he seems to be. In the final cut of the trailer we see Ruby in what seems to be a death bed or coffin but then his eyes open which makes me wonder that he may be dreaming but not really dead. In other clips we see Jamal with the money so it's not very clear if anyone else knows he found the money. The whereabouts of Olivia aren't clear from the trailer however and some people claim one of the memorials is actually hers. I haven't been able to confirm if it is her or not but it seems very likely somebody did die. The characters all seem to be attending or already attended a funeral. There's not much more the trailer does but serves more as a sort of mood setter for the new season and what we can expect. Overall I'm excited for the new season in about 2 weeks and will definitely have another video talking about my predictions for what might be going on. Hopefully by then we also will have a new trailer to dissect. What do you think is going on and are you excited for the new season?
