The life of ten-year-old Mia (Daniah de Villiers) is falling apart when her family decides to start a lion breeding farm in South Africa. Mia can not settle in, too long is the yearning for her native London and her old friends. One day, her father John (Langley Kirkwood) surprises the family with a rare white lion cub born on the farm. After initially resisting, Charlie - the name of the little lion - conquers her heart. In the coming years, the two are inseparable, but Charlie has grown into a magnificent big cat and thus become a threat to the tourists who visit the farm regularly. When Mia learns that her father wants to sell her beloved Charlie, she decides to flee with him to bring him to a conservation reserve.
