It is the eleventh movie in the Madea series, and the fourth not adapted from a play. It was set to be released by Lionsgate, on August 3, 2018, but moved to March 1, 2019. It is the last movie in the Madea series, as it was announced on October 30, 2018 by Tyler Perry that this was the end of the character.
